February 2011

David (age 2 1/2) building with Legos. (OK, so he had a little help with the big one):
Out to dinner at Bugatti's with friends: Rockelle, Mindy, Gabe, me, Beth, and Tara.

And then a little shoe shopping. Beth and Rockelle making the boots fit!

Up close with Zach:

Brooke, Zach, and Nicholas shooting hoops:

David needed a little help:

Brooke likes a little help too:

Brooke and David snuggling with daddy:

On President's Day we decided to hike Multnomah Falls:
1.1 miles of switchback to the top.
Can these tough guys make it to the top?

Stopping to pose in the "cave" along the way:

1/2 way there!

We made it!

From the top, the view of the "glass-like" Columbia River was amazing! Can you see the little cars in the parking lot down below?

David liked this little waterfall we saw on the way down:

We then deserved a stop at Wendy's. David is demonstrating how to dip a french fry into a Frosty:
YUM!

3 days later we finally got snow! School was cancelled and Nicholas and Zach enjoyed it while it lasted:

Nicholas and Zach playing in the snow with their friend, Noah:

Brooke preferred to stay inside with her cousin, Ashlyn.
They cut out hearts, colored, played Polly Pockets, and did each other's hair:
David is showing his cousin Austin how to use the Marble Run:
On Feb. 26, I took Zach (age 7 1/2) to his first karate promotion in Troutdale. Here he is demonstrating his punches, kicks, blocks, and 2 katas in hopes of earning his orange belt:

He did it! Zach and his newly acquired certificate and orange belt:

Good job, Zach!

Along the way we were intrigued by some amazing half-frozen waterfalls:

The icicles on the sides of the waterfalls were fascinating!
