March

Zachary earned the "Civic Participation" award this month! One student from each classroom is chosen for each month's Character Trait Award.

The principal, Patti Wiemer, is reading off the awards and the kids would "high-5" the mascot "Max the Fox" and walk through the cheering student body officers.
Zach is standing 4th from the right, after receiving his award.

Here are all the kids who earned this award and Zach is in the middle row, 3rd from the right.

Nicholas' friend, Joe, likes to come over and they have really gotten into the board game "Life"!

David finally got a bookshelf for his books and older siblings' hand-me-down stuffed animals.

Nicholas did a great job with his first year of playing basketball! We were so impressed with how quickly he improved, his aggressiveness on the court, and how he was always a good sport.
Nicholas is behind the guy on the far right.

Near Mike's dad's birthday (March 1), we have a tradition of going to Cannon Beach with Mike's mom and sister and her husband. They have fond memories of outings at the beach together and it's our time to remember Mike's dad. Fortunately, we had a very beautiful day, despite the cold and wind.

Brooke loves to write her name!

For Spring Break, we tried to find some fun things to do. We started the week by visiting Out of this World Pizza because of all the fun toys they have to play on. Here's David in the little kid section.

Nicholas and Zach enjoyed climbing up the big blow-up toys that you slide down. (I'm not sure what they are called. Is there an official name for those kinds of toys?)

"Let's do it again!"

Another big hit was the scooters they could ride around a track. David on this one.

Zach enjoying the ride.

And Nicholas too!

Another day during Spring Break, we went Safari Sam's, which is a large indoor jungle gym with 6 other families. Here is Brooke and her friend, Gavin.

I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or the mom's! Mindy, Jessie, Beth, Leslie, Robyn, Kate, and Tonya.

During Spring Break, we also went swimming, saw the movie Tangled at the cheap theater, and Nicholas and Zach spent the night at Grandma's house while Brooke went with Mike (and Uncle Adam) to Idaho to buy a short-sale house (for a rental). Mike, Brooke, and Adam stayed with my sister, LaRene, which included non-stop playing for Brooke and her cousin Naomi!
