The first day of school happened to be my 40th birthday and Mike had the day off.

First stop was to Fred Meyer to get me a bike and attach the baby seat on back that a neighbor gave us.
Now we ALL have bikes!

Gabe spent the morning with Ellen while Mike and I went golfing.

 

Then a stop at Costco, lunch at On the Border, picked up my iphone 5, and then home.

Dinner was frozen Costco lasagna, and a chocolate silk pie. 

Then to a Court of Honor where Nicholas earned 5 merit badges! Scoutmaster pictured is Howard Millett.

Brooke sat by her good friend, Sarya, at the court of honor.

And this is how they kept themselves busy...

Two days later was David's first day of kindergarten! 
He was pretty nervous to get on the bus and wouldn't look at the camera.

But he was brave and got on the bus with Brooke.

He survived his first Spanish immersion day of kindergarten!

So now it's just Gabe and me at home during the day until David gets home at 1pm.

Brooke gets home at 2:30, Nicholas and Zach get home at 4pm.  After elementary school, Zach gets bussed to the middle school for math.

14 1/2 months old

Nicholas went to the temple for youth baptisms for the first time on Sept. 17.  I was glad I was able to go and help out.
Mike gets to go every time because he's the Young Men's president. 
Nicholas really enjoyed being in the temple.

Mike made a deal with Brooke that if she stopped sucking her thumb, then after 30 days, she could get her ears pierced. 
She immediately stopped and got her ears pierced on Sept. 27.  She is so excited!

This is ear #1.

Ear #2.  No tears!




Mike ran his 3rd 1/2 marathon (13 miles) on Sept. 28.  Nicholas and David are pretty proud of their daddy!
