August

Starting off the month with a family reunion at Bear Lake in northeast Utah.  My parents had left a week earlier for their mission in Ukraine and 2 of my siblings weren't able to come. But this is 7 of us with our kids.

We've had a family reunion at this house 3 years ago and labeled it The Fun House because it has 9 bedrooms, huge media room, pool table, video games, slides next to each set of stairs in case you would rather take a "slide" than the stairs, and downstairs has a sunken trampoline, play structure (swings and slides), basketball hoop, and putting green.

I know this is a little blurry, but it captures my game-obsessed siblings.

Above this set of stairs is a lttle "play cubby."

Our neighbor, Kayla (age 11), put on a week long dance class that Brooke really enjoyed:

Our annual Intel Summer Party in Vernonia:
They had a display of exotic animals and this tiger was gorgeous!  They were serious about "please keep strollers back" because we got too close with our stroller and the tiger roared and jumped up at the fence! It scared us to death!  The zookeeper said rolling wheels confuse the tiger.

Brooke on a pony ride.  Her face painting is of a butterfly.

Zach playing mini-golf.

David playing mini-golf and a "cactus." It was a cowboy theme party.
Brooke driving an electric car.

Brooke climbing the rock wall.
I didn't see Nicholas and Zach much, they were off having fun on the gigantic waterslide, buffet of food, media tents, bounce houses, pogo sticks, craft room, collecting lots of prizes, etc.

Before summer ended we went to Sky High (trampoline place):

Zach, David, Brooke
You can see there are even trampolines on the walls!
The kids loved bouncing right into the foam pit.

Zach went to Seatlle with Grandma for a couple days to get spoiled and to visit Aunt Sara and Uncle Tom.

Gabe and I flew to Spokane for a couple nights to celebrate Grandad's 98th birthday with him.  It was also a birthday treat for me and a nice relaxing getaway.

July

2-week old Gabe on July 4, 2012

On Independence Day we enjoyed going to the parade downtown Hillsboro and set off our own fireworks in the front yard:

Amazing fireworks!

Sweet little hands

Our first harvest of blueberries off the 2 bushes we planted last year.
When Gabe was 2 weeks old, Mike went with the youth on a Pioneer Trek for 5 days so my parents came to stay with us and help out during that time.  We blessed Gabe the day before Mike left so it was perfect timing to have my parents here.

During the week my parents took our kids to Adam's house and held "Cousin Camp" with the kids.  They did crafts, played games, went swimming, and ate lunch.  My kids thoroughly enjoyed it!

The last day of Cousin Camp was held at Adam's house instead of the park
Mike was a company captain on the trek, which put him in charge of 5 families. Who can find Mike?
One last group shot, then it's hugs goodbye as my parents leave for another 1 1/2 year mission to Ukraine.

David loves to take pictures of himself with my camera.

Gabe's first ride in the front pack! (3 1/2 weeks old)

Nicholas wants to try the front pack too

And Brooke...

Paying the kids to scrub the fence! They were motivated to do the whole thing in one day.
My friend, Rockelle, came over to do a photoshoot of Gabe when he was one-month-old and here are my 5 favorite photos:

David turns 4!

big happy birthday smiles!

Brooke lost her 2nd top tooth during David's birthday dinner
The day after David's birthday is Nicholas birthday!

He wanted to spend as much time as possible in this chair:
using the laptop, reading books, playing ipod...

We were able to drag him away from his chair for a little while to take
him to Red Robin for dinner and free birthday ice cream!

He wanted a chocolate pie and to light his own candles

SO happy to get Monopoly with CREDIT CARDS!

and roller blades!
Nicholas is done with Cub Scouts and on to 11-year-old scouts!

Brooke always wants Gabe to play with her and her friends

Two cuties! (Gabe is 5 weeks)
