Brooke had a 1st grade field trip to Jackson Bottom Wetlands. We got to observe and learn about all different kinds of wildlife.

This is the largest preserved, fully intact, bald eagle's nest in the United States. It is 7-by-11 foot and 1,500 pounds.
This picture hardly does it justice. That nest was huge! |

Zach turns 10 years old:
| His friends singing an obnoxious version of Happy Birthday. He wanted chocolate cheesecake bars instead of cake. |
| Blake, Doug, Beau, Nicholas, Zach, Deion, Peng, Riley |
| Zach got this cool "candy bouquet" from Riley. |
| All Zach wanted to do for his party was play Pokémon, so everyone brought their cards and they had a tournament. |

| The right song came on the radio and so they called an "intermission" to dance! |

Pokémon is the big hit lately, even David and Brooke have their own deck of Pokémon cards.
They can't even stop for lunch! |
| To continue with the birthday celebration, Mike and I took Zach to 5 Guys Burger and Fries for a manly burger. |
| YUM! |
| And to celebrate with the family, he chose ice cream pie and wanted to light it himself. |
And blowing them out
Happy Birthday, Zach! |
Mike and his friend, Don, volunteered at the school twice a month for a group called Math Counts. During lunch time, they would focus on math games for some of the students that wanted an extra challenge.
Zach and Nicholas were both in Math Counts. The group even went to a competition.
To say thanks, Don and Mike each received a pie that said, "Math is easy as pi." |
| Gabey turns ONE! He got our traditional candle in the banana instead of cake. Do you see Brooke holding Gabe's hand so he won't touch the candle? |
