July 2015

I made new curtains! Well, I bought the blue curtains and the decorative fabric, cut the top off the curtains and sewed the colorful fabric into it.  I also added a white sheer curtain over the window, but they really aren't as sheer as they look here.

Another Independence Day 5K for the family.  We have Grandma with us and Hazel (the kids' cousin).  David sat out with a friend, and Brooke and I ran together.  I'm proud of the kids for finishing the race!

Hazel and Gabe along for the ride.

The kids always enjoy the parade and the candy after the 5K.

In the evening, we went to the Nissinen's for dinner, games, and fireworks.
Zach and Brooke holding Roman candles.

Mike having a little too much fun.
Steven, Todd, Sean, and Aaron in the background.

A bounce house and a balloon guy was at the party making fun stuff for the kids.

Awesome show!

Then Zach is off to a week of Scout Camp with the other deacons in our ward:
Ryan Klingler, Blake Kelley, and Nathan Millett. Yes, he's pretty excited!

At one of the library shows, Gabe got called up to help.  He really didn't like that too much.

He especially didn't like this part!

Annual Stake Activity Day Girls Activity.  The theme was from General Conference "Stay in the Boat."
Brooke is in the very front on the right.

With the 3 older kids at mutual one hot night, I took David and Gabe to the fountains in downtown Hillsboro and pretty much had it to ourselves!

Mike was invited to be on Gabe Jensen's Ragnar team that competed near Seattle.  With 12 people on their team,
they took turns and each had 3 legs to run and to finish it in 36 hours, so at all times one person was running.
He said he had a great time.

Mike after his late night run.  They brought sleeping bags and slept for a couple hours outside.

Brooke's first batch of chocolate chip cookies all by herself!

David turned 7! With Chuck E. Cheese.

He invited Brooke, Kai Podwys, and Ji-uk Odil to his party.

Super mouse!

Big hug from dad.

Super mouse!

Putting together a Bionicle he got for his birthday.

And more cake at home!

AND out to dinner with mom and dad to Red Robin. (on another night)

Nicholas spent 9 days in Nebraska with his cousins and Spencer took him up flying.

He got home late the night before his birthday and so he had an impromptu party at the bowling alley with Warren Squire, (Nicholas), Riley Roecker, Nathan Millett, and Zach.

Three days later he was ordained a teacher.

The next week we were off to 2 family reunions back to back.

We spent 2 nights in hotels to get to Southern California.  It was actually cooler in SoCal than in Oregon!
The kids took advantage of the pool each night.

Brooke, Zach, Nicholas, and Mike.
