February Disneyland/Hawaii trip 2016

Beautiful sunrise on our 6:10am flight from Portland to Anaheim.
After dropping off our luggage at our hotel, we were IN the park by 9:30am!

In the evening of Day 3 we flew to Maui
We arrived late, but woke up to this view at the MaKena Beach and Golf Resort

'Iao Needle: A sacred buying place for chiefs and the location of Maui's last giant battle.
The "needle" was a look-out point.

Also at 'Ioa Needle

Nakalele Blowhole

Luau at Wailea Marriott Resort

A luau isn't complete without a fire guy!

Hike through a bamboo forest to get to The Four Falls of Na'ili'ili-haele

One of the falls. We only made it to 2 of the falls since the hike got pretty treacherous.

Ke'anae Peninsula on Road to Hana

Wailua Iki Falls on Road to Hana
On the Road to Hana, there's this hole by the side of the road that is easily missed.

But you can actually climb into the hole. And it's a lava tube cave!

It's pitch black inside for a short while, but then you see some light and can actually get to the other side!

Towards the end of the Road to Hana we saw these crazy people jumping into the choppy water!
Wai'anapanapa State Park

Pa'iloa Black Sand Beach
crushed up lava makes for black sand

The inside courtyard of Makena Beach and Golf Resort
A nice little resort

I think this is the highest point on Maui: Haleakala National Park.  We are even above the clouds!
And it was actually quite chilly.

Mike snorkeling at Big Beach.  He's pretty much alone out there - because the water was choppy and hard to see any fish.

Our 5th and last sunset in Maui.
